The Over-the knee Boot is an addition to your wardrobe that you NEED to invest in this Fall. Seriously.

Oh how I covet thee!  An instant way to amp up almost any outfit with a cheeky sexiness that will draw stares and I don’t mean in a ‘Pretty Woman’ type of way…there is a significant difference between an ‘over-the-knee’ boot and a ‘thigh-high’ boot.  This boot should graze the top of your-knee cap, no higher.

When you go  on your hunt don’t be overwhelmed by the variety, as this boot’s done in suede, leather, with & without embellishments (studding, zippers, etc.) and in a tons of colors and heel heights.  Take your wardrobe and lifestyle into consideration when making your choice to get the most value.  Do you wear a lot of leathers and biker inspired pieces that would complement a high-heeled zippered version? or do you wear more wools and cashmere’s that would go perfectly with a flat suede boot?

I highly recommend looking to the Stuart Weitzman collection for this trend as it is bang-on with every different version made of this boot from high-heeled with buckles, kitten-heeled with zippers and his best seller two-years in a row the ‘50/50′ which is a flat suede version.

So speaking of leather…while I’ve been in London I went shopping for a leather jacket. Boy is Crystal’s post bang on trend – leather is short, motorcycle, zippers. I opted for one not quite so trendy as her finds.

My very first day of shopping, first store – I spotted it. That was too easy and I almost didn’t get it. I’d been looking in Vancouver for weeks. So glad I did!

This one is from Mango and it’s cropped and like in the pic great to be belted for a different look. My fav part is the motorcycle quilting across the entire back.

There is nothing like an amazing jacket to pull your outfit together.  For Fall teasers we’re seeing a lots o’ leather on the runway over every type of outfit – evening, casual, couture you name it.  It’s a great way to add a dash of spunk (or punk) to your look.

Leather has a best friend this season – zippers!  Zippers are everywhere on leather jackets from subtle to over the top to give them that real ‘biker’ look.

One thing I’ve noticed is the jackets are getting smaller and smaller.  Last season it was the form fitting bomber, this season it’s a much smaller, shrunken version of that.  Lots of 3/4 sleeves or 1/2 sleeved jackets that hit right above the belly button.  Pair these mini jackets with a long sleeved turtleneck (shown here by Phi) or my best buy last season – elbow length ruched leather gloves.

Tip: You can hike up and ‘ruche’ the sleeves on last years’ bomber to achieve this look because we all know leather is expensive!
