I thought boots were meant to be worn in the fall/winter,  apparently I was wrong.  These days ankle boots are making quite the appearance in this summer.

Peep-toe’s, cut-outs, fringe, suede, zippers, buckles, you name it are all different variations that these summer ankle length booties are accompanied with.  What you would pair a boot with in the summer? the cool thing with this trend is there really is no rule. Skinny jeans, skirts, dresses, capris and even shorts and look equally as flattering with each.

I give props to this ‘Emily Sligback’ from Frye -  incorporate into any outfit with it’s warm color and buckle accent.  If you’ve ever owned a pair of Frye’s you’ll know the quality of their leather is to die for – soft and supple enough that you could wear every day if you wanted too.

Being the avid polish-a-holic that I am, I’m always on the lookout to perfect my massive nail polish collection that is quickly outgrowing its set space in my bathroom.

Make room and play nice little bottles! because you are about to make four new friends come June 2009 when OPI officially releases its SUNbelievable summer ‘09 collection.

Sea? I Told You is a super bright aquamarine and definitely the loudest of the bunch.  If The Fuchsia Fits is a close second on the brightness scale and will soon become your staple summer pink.  I’m His Coral-friend is perfect for those who aren’t quite ready to commit to a full on orange but still want to push the boundaries with their tips.  And finally yellow is the new ‘black’ of the summer and Banana Bandanna truly is the perfect combo of buttery & bright.

You can hear a collective sigh of relief from all those women that hate putting on a bikini. This summer’s swimwear trend is all about the monokini.

Ironically, many of these one-piece bathing suits don’t give you much more coverage or support than a bikini. Black dominates the racks this season, but interesting cut-outs and designs create the visual interest so often lost where color lacks.

This little black monokini. Aqua di Lara Mendoza Swimsuit, is one of the coolest ones I’ve seen. And check out the lack of back – is that not sexy as hell?

The biggest downfall to a monokini is the risk of odd or unflattering tan lines.

Low, Seventies, loosey style. Low rider jeans are so over, and now there’s a new low in town.

When you are rockin’ the hot street scene let the ladies loose! Throw on a comfortable, sassy strapless blouse and wear it a little low.  The lower the better.  On those lazy sunday afternoons a big pair of shades, a low strapeless blouse and a pair of wide-legged jeans is one of this summer’s hot looks. 

Forever 21 has low prices and some low styles that will suit the streets.  This groovy brown printed strapless blouse is perfect for all low energy activities we all love, like grass laying, low riding and side walk talking. Exposed shoulders are sultry, steamy, seventies.
