Metallic Mod Bags ~ theitlists.com

» Filed under accessories on February 27, 2008

They come and go, but metallic handbags are now hotter than ever. Metallic bags are very hot looks for 2008 Spring handbag trends.

Expect to see metallic bags in the shape of retro clutches and oversized bags.  Colors will range from burnished gold to gunmetal grey. Colors like purple, blue, pink, and orange will also translate well into metallic looks.

One way that metallic bags will pop up is with subtle metallic leather trim on fabric handbags. You can also anticipate added details like metallic stitching and tassels to spice up handbags.

Another way that a metal shine and pizzazz is added to trendy handbags is through their hardware. Look for chains replacing handbag straps, decorative clasps, studs, and rings.

Milla’s Target “it” ~ theitlists.com

jovovich-hawk.jpgJovovich-Hawk designers Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk are joining the long list of fashion designers to design a side-line for Target.

Milla Jovovich of the hip fashion line Jovovich-Hawk  has signed to create a mini-line of clothing for Target to launch in Spring, 2008. Milla formed the vintage-inspired fashion line in 2005 with her model friend Carmen Hawk.

The eclectic line is now beloved by loyal fashionistas: Chloe Sevigny, Nicole Richie, Brittany Murphy, Joy Bryant and Ginnifer Goodwin. But if you’re looking for budget versions the Jovovich-Hawk will be launching their Target collection on March 2, 2008!

Milla: "Our Target line will have all our classic pieces: smock dresses, tunics, minis, all vintage-inspired, great prints. We took the things that sold the best for us but we’re doing it on a bigger scale. To be able to do it with a big company that can afford to do it for a good price so that real girls can afford it. That’s the reason we were interested."

Color Me Green ~ ~theitlists.com

» Filed under design on December 19, 2007

Pick a color any color, as long as it’s green (or grey).

The Color Marketing Group Conference was recently held in Tampa. For 40 years these color afficianatos have been meeting and dissecting color trends - predicting what we will see on phones to frocks, and cars and carpets.

Because of its environmental roots green will continue to be the eco-signature leading color trends for 2008. Traditional muted shades for background neutrals, brighter leafy green and citrus shade for vibrant accents.

And if you are really paying attention to “the color” of this season (and next) - Grey. You’ll notice it’s not the usual mix of black and white, but rather complex and soft. There are deeper greens and browns in our new greys. It’s also a reason why green goes so nicely with them.
