April “it” Girl - Fergie

fergie_vivaglam.jpgThe Duchess, Stacy Ann Ferguson ala Fergie has been spending the last months promoting herself as the new spokesperson for Viva Glam VI. And now the latest shade is available in stores. Over $100 million has been raised by M.A.C. Cosmetics for their AIDS program.

“I’ve been a fan of the campaign since the early days, and I remembered when RuPaul and Mary J. Blige did it,” Fergie says. “They pick controversial people who aren’t afraid to speak their mind, and that’s definitely me. I’m very proud to be a part of it.”

Fergie is an “it girl” because she is such a radical free spirit. The singer catapulted her solo success beyond Black Eyed Peas, is engaged to hottie Josh Duhamel, and is dabbling in some acting. Thumbs up are given to her because she’s using that success to promote M.A.C. Cosmetics virtuous cause.

She’s been pretty candid about her dodgy sexual and narcotic past, and so it only makes sense this is her way of moving forward from that in a positive way.

glowbal-glow_mac.JPGI’m addicted to all mineral makeup. Liquid foundation is a thing of the past in my bathroom, and now the creme de la creme finish before I leave the house is a final dusting from M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish.

Mineralize Skinfinish is one of the treats I picked up at BC Fashion Week. It’s a lux velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish that adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks and brows, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face. Highly reflective it gives fantastic depth.mcqueen.jpeg

Important! Don’t get turned off by how shimmery it looks - try it first. Friends are always super, super surprised when I show them the metallic product, but then they see it on me and there’s no glitter.

It’s best to go slightly darker than your skin tone - so the one that’s giving me a bit of color despite summer being long gone is M.A.C.’s Global Glow. It’s sold out online, but a bunch of my gals have still been able to get their brushes on these compacts.

Barbie does MAC Cosmetics

mac-barbie-2.pngI’ve been waiting!! To share more than just rumor that MAC Cosmetics was launching a Barbie Collection so that it didn’t disappoint (like it did with launching only one Playboy lipstick - I think it was called Bunny).

Tada! Here it is today…and it looks fun, very pink, but very fun. Face, eyes, lips, nails, and the M.A.C. Barbie Collection wouldn’t be complete without a special edition MAC Barbie doll. Now you too can look like an adult Barbie.

All this pink makeup will actually look great with this spring’s predicted hot color - yellow.

Viva Glam “it” VI

M·A·C Cosmetic’s last few Viva Glam lipsticks weren’t as unique as previous versions. This year’s Viva Glam is a definite "it"!

 There’s also a VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass, that can be paired or worn separate from it’s namesake lipstick. The beauty of the Viva Glam line is it’s universal appeal (almost anyone can wear these shades), but also that all of it’s profits go to fight HIV/ AIDS.
