They come and go, but metallic handbags are now hotter than ever. Metallic bags are very hot looks for 2008 Spring handbag trends.
Expect to see metallic bags in the shape of retro clutches and oversized bags. Colors will range from burnished gold to gunmetal grey. Colors like purple, blue, pink, and orange will also translate well into metallic looks.
One way that metallic bags will pop up is with subtle metallic leather trim on fabric handbags. You can also anticipate added details like metallic stitching and tassels to spice up handbags.
Another way that a metal shine and pizzazz is added to trendy handbags is through their hardware. Look for chains replacing handbag straps, decorative clasps, studs, and rings.
I have to give credit to my husband for my fav christmas gift - and a uber find to share with you. Arielle de Pinto does these crazy hand hand crocheted necklaces from sterling silver and vermeil metal.
Every piece conforms to style design and dimension, yet each is individual with an uninhibited rawness.

My Simple 3x is a 53” that’s bang on trend as a long chain, or wraps around up to three times. Not only that - it easily settles the age old dilemma on whether or not to mix’n match silver and gold!!
One half of mine is all silver, and the bottom half is all gold. It has a bit of overlapping twisted and tangled in both of the joining points - and literally threads of single chains dripping here and there for edgy fashion.
Love Love it. My boy has great taste. ;)
I don’t have a local Sephora (sigh), but I do make use of the interweb to do my ca-chinging. My recent Seattle round let me explore the aisles and find those little treasures that just get lost on the website. A lot of my gals are getting this little find, the Round-A-Pout.
I picked up a tube of Sephora brand Gold & Glow gloss because it’s great to wear solo or over lipstick to take a shade from day into nite. When I noticed it was part of the Round-A-Pout Beach Bronze I had to grab a bunch. The little round bauble contains four glosses to transform your pout from fizzle to sizzle,
best of all they’re all under $10.
If you’re looking for safer, pinker tones then nab the Beach Ball. Yah, I had to grab a bunch of them too. Another value set is this Harmony Set.
And one last find. I’ve got more Rosebud Salve then I know what to do with, but still had to pick up their latest addition: Minted Rose Lip Balm

Dresses: It’s the season of the dress. A sweater dress is the best choice (and you can warm up with leggings underneath. Legging rules - cover your bum!).
Gold: Gold hardware, around your neck (layers of chains), shoe details, and fabric. It’s a rare woman who can mix silver and gold -so be safe and retire the silver for a little while.
Boots: Knee-high or little booties - just keep in mind the heel is flat or chunky (no stiletto). Cuffs & buckles galore.
Skinny Pants: With so much layering volume on top, you want your bottoms slim. The only skinny I’ve ‘really’ liked is the velvet skinny.
Menswear-inspired Trousers: If skinny and leggings don’t do it for you -your answer is plaids and pinstripes in wide-leg or long Bermuda short-style.

Sweaters: Since skinny is the look below - the counterbalance is big up top. Oversized flowing knits.
White Blouses: Always a classic, but now they look stunningly crisp with black, red and leopard accents.
Red accents: Red is the No. 1 accent color for the season, says Gregg Andrews, a fashion director at Nordstrom. Buy a red coat, or a red handbag. Wear red lips.
Black accents: Coordinate jet onyx beads and crystals with just the right sparkle to subtly stand out on black.
