Friday, July 10th, 2009
With the abundance of fantastic designers emerging from Canada the Fashion Design Council of Canada has decided to give the help that a new designer needs most… MONEY!
The Fashion Designer Development Fund has been created to aid established designers catapult their career in these rough economic times, which have unfortunately hit our industry viciously hard. The neat thing about this reward is that it’s specifically geared to those who already have a line and may be struggling to keep it afloat so the eligibility requirements are quite specific:

- Applicant must have been in business for a maximum of 4 consecutive years, and a minimum of 2 consecutive seasons.
- Applicant must be a designer of ability, exemplified through editorial coverage.
- Applicant must be able to demonstrate wholesaling for the duration of your business.
The Award
- A minimum financial reward of $10 000.00 to be used toward implementing and furthering the recipients business objectives.
