Bling Affair

Monday, January 11th, 2010

bling headphones.pngIf you haven’t had enough of the sequin trend and need more bling in your life – here are the headphones for you.

BlingAffair.com has made a ton of custom Dj headsets and other music props for people like David Guetta, Roger Sanchez, The Party Squad, DJ Jean, Axwell, and many more. And many of their designs arelimited edition items, which means only 10 are made of this design.

So do the little Swarovsi crystals come off (all 3,500 of them)? Nah! (they claim) Nah! They have special pattented glue developed. So bling on.

Bhold “it”

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

bhold shopping bag.pngYou’re probably thinking what I did at first – shopping bags aren’t anything new. I’ve got a dozen different types that fold up into little bundles that you can easily keep in your purse.

I still decided to test drive the Bhold Shopping Bags for a few months – including a few hefty Boxing Day adventures.

These ones are a bit pricey, but they wear really, really well. Other bags I’ve had were tossed and replaced in the same time span.

What I like most is the gathered top gives them a bit of shape compared to others – which is the other reason I much prefer the Copper colored version. Bhold’s color, shape and quality make it the best little travel shopping bag I’ve found.

Scrape “it”

Monday, December 28th, 2009

ebIceScraperMittBaby, it’s cold out there. In case you couldn’t get your hands on the 2010 Olympic red mittens, Down Ice Scraper Mitt from Eddie Bauer.

It may seem lame…but for me, it was love at first sight. Plus, I bought another pair for my mom. (FYI, she loves it).

One hand won’t have to suffer in the freezing cold while you scrap the ice off.  This mitt is filled with premium northern Euro goose down…it’s super warm, trust!  To really polish up your style, some come with a faux-fur trim.

Did you ever think scraping the car window could be fashionable, eh?   Do you think Burberry will make a version? Stay warm.  It’s on sale for $14.50. It’s win-win.

Dial “it” Wrist Phone

Monday, November 30th, 2009

dial wrist 2.pngThis is unfair of us…but we’re going to tease you today with something you can’t have. It’s only a concept, but it’s so cool of an idea we had to share.

The concept is designed by Jung Dae Hoon, and The Dial wristwatch phone combines the elegance of a bracelet with the functionality of a mobile phone.

dial wrist.pngThe numbers and settings of the Dial wristwatch phone are displayed through a beam of light that can be projected onto the wrist or any surface. his wristwatch phone is still just a concept.

A projected light beam in the inner circle impersonates the rotary dial, but to dial a number you need to simply touch it.  How cool would that be?!

Share Your Heart – Breast Cancer Month

Monday, October 12th, 2009

HeartPinkRibbonIt is always amazing when a great promotion comes together for a cause.  October is Breast Cancer month and the cause itself is already known for its amazing turn out for creative fundraising promotions.

Now thanks to W hotels in LA and San Francisco and Lee Denim and Christina Applegate you can give just by travelling in the month of October.  When you book a room at W you receive Two Cool “Tickled Pink” Cocktails, “I Love Life” T-shirt, and 25% off Lee Denim Gift Card. I love this promotion because you get a cute t-shirt out of the deal and compliments of Christina Applegate’s Foundation and she’s got good style, right?  But a new pair of Lee jeans could make any t-shirt look good.  For more information on travelling for a cause and Share your Heart visit DenimDay.com

Heatwave Must Haves ~ Tunes

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Okay another heat wave must have is the proper tunes to distract you from thinking about the sweat tickling behind your knees. Crank some good music and all is right in the world.

The Far East MovementAnimal album is kind HipHop Electro. It’s pure summer ‘getting ready to go out’ music. Or it’s great cranked in the convertible (that is another heatwave must have). The whole album is pretty fun…I love:  Animal, Dance Like Michael Jackson, LowRidin’, but the best track is “Girls On The Dance Floor.”

Here’s the YouTube link to the full track.

Bite “it” ~ Buffy vs. Edward

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Our fascination with vampires runs deeper than Edward Cullen’s beautiful skin. We are intrigued by the love story of 2 young teens as it parallels the hardships of falling in love at that age to the extreme.

Twilight is a new twist on the same portrayal of hardships that Buffy The Vampire Slayer experienced as a teen to going to school, however Buffy maintained a full class schedule while battling the undead. In this comical video that parallels the two vampire worlds she is onto him and shows Edward that it’s vampire chicks that rule. Edward Cullen isn’t cute enough to escape Buffy TVS’s mission to ‘kick butt’ on evil.

payaya journals.pngComputer, blackberry, i phone…sometimes do you forget to step away and fantasize for a moment?

Your imagination can actually keep you on track with your turning your dreams into a reality with creative visualization. hp-mini vivienne tamIs there such thing as a fashionable laptop?

Most would say of course!  The Mac!  But amazing as they are, does the sleek polished appearance count as a fashion statement or is it simply a trend?

In an attempt to win over the PC fashionista’s in their market, Hewlett-Packard teamed up with Vivienne Tam to make a limited edition laptop that will make you want to trade your apple for a peony.

The peony design is what really stood out in Tam’s Spring 2009 collection and is what makes the HP Mini Vivienne Tam edition a true statement piece.  (And really isn’t that what fashion is all about, making a statement?)  This notebook has a 10.1″ display, weighs in at only 2.45lbs and is merely 1″ thick.  It retails for $699.00USD which will also get you a matching Vivienne Tam sleeve or you could opt for the exclusive tech-chic bundle which includes a matching Vivienne Tam scarf and tote for $899.00USD.

GQ UK – Seriously! Heads Ups Girls

Monday, June 8th, 2009

GQ UK.pngGentleman’s Quarterly GQ UK is not like it’s USA counterpart. It’s smart, it’s dialed in, it’s full of erudite, original writing and actually does what it claims: the magazine with an IQ.

I read the June issue cover to cover – twice. Why should you pick up the July issue? Because it’s got part two of GQ’s ‘book of lists’ will give you more than a couple of nights of cocktail conversation with some hottie.

Tracey Emin_love poem neon.png

Regular contributors like chef Heston Blumenthal; Celia Walden writes a car review on the new BMW M6 pondering why it’s got so much junk in the trunk; and Tracey Emin’s hand scrawled poems (her “love poem” in neon – left).

P.S. If you can still find a June issuing kicking around nab it – here’s the cover with Simon Pegg.

I Was Told There’d Be Cake

Monday, May 18th, 2009

sloane crosley.pngYou can have your cake and read it too. Perfect summer reading! A collection of chick lit essays by Sloane Crosley called I Was Told There’d Be Cake.

The title alone should hook you, but what’ll really get you is the blunt wit of a chickie-pooh who writes in a style beyond her years. Crosley is credited for writing the cover story of the worst-selling Maxim, well now she’ll charm the pants off you in this collection of prose with her take on growing up strange.

Those important life reflections like: her failed quest for a one nite stand or “as I using tampons before or after I learned to tie a cherry stem with my tongue?” And I’m sure she lost a few friends over her candid recall of bridal party horrors like counting all forty-two bobby pins that you remove from your shellacked hair-do, aerosol overdoses, and bad toasts.

My favorites are “You on a Stick” and “The Pony Problem” – where “Coffee, tea, a pony?” can have consequences.

Lenka Lyrics

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

lenka.pngI think I could live in a permanent soundtrack of vocals from Lenka. I’d just be happy and whimsical all the time.

Lenka is an Australian (now calling LA home) songstress that came from television roots. She was the third host of a long-running children’s breakfast cartoon program, Cheez, in Australia. Well I do like my popstars with a bit of cheesy.

Now the solo singer-songwriter, is most famous worldwide for her song The Show, and she might not be on your playlist yet but you’ve probably heard her in the background of Grey’s Anatomy, 90120, and Old Navy.
