So over Boxing Day I did only a few purchases worth mentioning: one was the cashmere wrap that my dog proceeded to chew. No seriously, he took actual bites out of it (and he doesn’t even chew shoes!) So he has good taste?

The other purchase is a pair of jeans from Citizens of Humanity. Now I’ve been perplexed at the branding they’ve been trying to do with the simple acronym of COH. Pretty blah, COH what the heck is that? But OMG is the other acronym I’ll use – as it’s what came out of my mouth when I touched them.

I’ve found a few JBrand that were this velvety soft that they don’t even feel like denim, but this one topped it. It was love at first touch. The Matrix wash is pretty grand.

Can’t wait to roll these softies up and go wandering on a beach like in this pic!

You’re probably thinking what I did at first – shopping bags aren’t anything new. I’ve got a dozen different types that fold up into little bundles that you can easily keep in your purse.

I still decided to test drive the Bhold Shopping Bags for a few months – including a few hefty Boxing Day adventures.

These ones are a bit pricey, but they wear really, really well. Other bags I’ve had were tossed and replaced in the same time span.

What I like most is the gathered top gives them a bit of shape compared to others – which is the other reason I much prefer the Copper colored version. Bhold’s color, shape and quality make it the best little travel shopping bag I’ve found.

My latest fav indie music is from Welsh singer–songwriter and guitarist, Ellie Goulding. Her voice. Love love love “it”.

Starry Eyed and Under the Sheets are amazing track, and even more grand is the upbeat Jakwob remix. Listen Up – here. On a recent girls trip to Whistler, Carla and I had the remix on repeat overkill!

Actually the only bad thing about Ellie Goulding is that there isn’t a full album yet, and she’s only touring in the UK. So you’ll just have to get teased by what there is – her official website says the album is coming out soon in 2010 (so keep watching) and buy a copy to support this indie angel.

An even heavier than norm’ social calendar has me trying to stretch out my holiday dresses – a bit of challenge, but just a few more to go! My easy answer is accessories.

Some good old sparkles usually do that, especially with all the sequins this season, but don’t forget tights and nylons - especially from the Secret Legwear Fall Collection.*

A bursts of color might be one way of getting some attention, but if you truly want to step into the spotlight, opt for pretty patterns.  F/Winter 2009 you can add slinky glamour to an outfit with the Molten Gloss tight in Bronze or Silver, while the Black Crochet tight & Sparkle Diamond Mesh tight will take an outfit from plain to perfect in no time flat. My fav pick of the collection is the Horizontal Rib tight (the far right). Something about this ribbing adds real style, but is still demure.

*I know it’s December and I’m sharing Fall styles, but I just checked my local mall today and they’re in stock (on sale even).

I think that one of the coolest bands has got to be The Gossip. And the lead vocals is this month’s “it girl” Beth Ditto. She doesn’t look stereotype model pretty, but man does she have something.

I love this quote from an Elle interview, “…’interviewing the Gossip’s Beth Ditto is like trying to hold a conversation with a combination of your niece on a Skittles high and a gracious, wisecracking Rhoda Morgenstern,” Read more.

Funny thing is this past summer I ended up with them in closed quarters – okay more like back corner – of Bungalow 8. Beth Ditto was this ball of energy that fired up a bunch of to dance to hip hop song (so fun) – and as she yelled “I love this song!!!” I had to ask her who it was. She said, but too much champers erased it from my memory.

After I learned this fun crew, side saddled with Peaches Geldorf, was The Gossip. I downloaded some of their songs and fell in love with Beth’s voice.

My fav:  Heavy Cross LISTEN (and repeat 20x – lol)
There will be much more to come from Beth and this band.

We’re back up and running. Someone with not enough time on their hands hacked into our site and started spamming our fans. Turns out since The It Lists has been around so long – you’d think that was a good thing – that the security it’s built with just couldn’t keep up with some of the issues.  We think we’ve got this fixed, thanks for your patience. And know that we would never just drop off the blogosphere like that.
