photoVancouver Foodster’s Richard Wolak has been packaging up a sampling of different neighborhoods cuisines: Tasting Plates Vancouver. I was excited when the June one was in my own South Main ‘hood. And surprised at all the little holes in the wall that I’d driven by a zillion times.

My top picks would be: I am so going back to Fray  (@FrayonFraser) for the portabella fries (deep fried mushroom with a crunchy coating – oh yum).  Saly Limon (@Salylimonvan) has been getting thumbs up as one of the best spots for authentic Mexican – and I would have to agree. Bob Likes Thai Food (@boblikthaifood) ironically there is no Bob. My Goodness! Gluten & Wheat Free Kitchen (@mygoodnessgf) is after my allergy free heart – we were testers for the butter tarts they plan to launch. Melt in your mouth!! Our final spot was the Triple O’s on the Go (@tripleOsOnTheGo) with mac & cheese sliders and creamsicle shakes.

Don’t you hate when someone blogs about what you missed? No fears, we’ll give you advance notice of the next Tasting Plates.  But in the meantime, hope you make use of the palate scores I found on this recent tasting adventure.
