Resort to “it”
Don’t you hate when you see something you want, but can’t have….yet?
Alexander Wang’s Resort 2013 collection feels like a big tease when we’re just starting to enjoy 2012.
This collection is dominated by high-contrast mix of textures and a paired-down palette of neutrals. The nobby knits and slick skins. Love.
Wang is interested in “the idea of suspension, cutting things apart and tacking them back together,” and the notion manifested itself not just in the designer’s use of angular layers and juxtaposed fabrics — leather sheens, whisper-light sheers, faux croc, and tactile knits — but also in the cutaway flaps, seamed panels, and delicate straps.
