Always at the forefront of sophistication and class – tweed is one of those fabrics that timeless, effortless and always chic. This season tweed has a strong presence in women’s jackets allowing for a different take on the menswear trend for those who still want the look but are over the boyfriend blazer craze.
Many tweed jackets have a ‘riding’ feel to them with leather work being featured on the elbows, shoulder and pocket detailing of many styles this season. When choosing one of these try to lean away from other items in your outfit that also have ‘riding’ theme – there is no reason to be in a tweed riding jacket, riding pants, and riding boots unless you are perfectly perched on top of a horse! Balmain did a great take on tweed jackets that were military & biker themed (left).
These jackets look great with jeans tucked into boots, a heavy short with tights and oxfords or with a great little shift dress.
