Aloha – greetings from Hawaii. I’m on my second wave of a sunburn, which leaves me to question why at my age I’ve still not mastered the concept of how to properly apply sunblock. Geez! The sign of this being my fingerprints tattooed on my leg from where I fell asleep on the beach.

The upside of this has been staying out of the sun by shopping Hawaii’s Waikiki Beach Walk strip that is a mecca of Prada, Burberry, Channel, Chloe, and I’ve counted four Coach stores (and a DFS Galleria duty free mall – n0t just at the airport).

waikiki.pngLove the Royal Hawaiian Centre, but sadly built in front of one of the oldest hotels (and my fav), the pink palace, Royal Hawaiian. There used to be a Forever 21 in here, but still a few other gems are left. And for Forever 21 you’ll have to hit Ala Moana, and rumour of a summer 2010 big location coming here.

My other shopping tip – the Ala Moana Shopping Mall here rocks! you must do a lunch stop at the Mariposa in Neiman Marcus. The Ahi Tuna sandwich was a reco’ from a friend – and I agree! It’s a surprise eating spot for a mall – the partial outdoor deck makes the difference.
