Jeans are sustainability enemy number one; it’s a good thing we get so much wear out of our best denim friends. Cotton accounts for only 3% of global crops, but uses between 15- 25% of the insecticides and pesticide. Ouch.
Levi’s is the first mainstream label to wade into the organic fray. Kicking ‘green’ fashion up a notch with its Recycled Levis Line and letting us inject a does of eco chic without sacrificing style. Some styles of their regular Red Tab line and also their super premium line, Levi’s Capital E (one of my favs!), will be made with 100% organic cotton starting in November. The eco styles will cost a dash more than their everyday pricing.
And so goes the quest for the eco that doesn’t make your bum look big.
