Enter Madewell. J. Crew’s foray into a more youthful demographic has been a huge success
The Soho space’s two huge stories are filled with sunny pop music and 20-something shoppers. The clothing is younger, brighter, trendier and cheaper than J. Crew’s.
Style tip? The high waistline is extra flattering on longwaisted women. Come April, you can pair it with a colorful spring sundress for an feminine urban look.
$108 (approx) at Topshop.
They come and go, but metallic handbags are now hotter than ever. Metallic bags are very hot looks for 2008 Spring handbag trends.
Expect to see metallic bags in the shape of retro clutches and oversized bags. Colors will range from burnished gold to gunmetal grey. Colors like purple, blue, pink, and orange will also translate well into metallic looks.
One way that metallic bags will pop up is with subtle metallic leather trim on fabric handbags. You can also anticipate added details like metallic stitching and tassels to spice up handbags.
Another way that a metal shine and pizzazz is added to trendy handbags is through their hardware. Look for chains replacing handbag straps, decorative clasps, studs, and rings.
Yellowish teeth can make any girl stop smiling. I’m not a smoker, but I do like my red vino - so maybe that’s the culprit to blame when I get a bit of yellow going on my pearly whites.
It was for my wedding and the all important ‘omigod must look amazing’ shots that I discovered home kit whiteners: Studies show that home whitener kits have a 96% success rate. I’ve tried Crest White Strips and the never-ending flow of toothpastes that all have some whitener in them.

One of the newest whitener kits is Celebrity Sexy Teeth. No strips, no trays, no harsh lights, no drip, no mess. Celebrity Sexy Teeth is even packaged to look like a lip gloss.
And with a combo of key ingredients it draws hydrogen peroxide in to the tiny pores of your teeth to whiten both the outer layer of enamel for immediately noticeable whiter teeth, and the inner layers of enamel for long lasting results. Best yet Celebrity Sexy Teeth promises 8 Shades in 14 Days!

I told you orange would be one of spring’s ‘it’ colors. Delicious citrus hues!
It’s more versatile than you think too! It’s brilliant with neutrals - think about that taupe and red combo you love, just sub the red with orange.
And for a great way to move it into your wardrobe this Banana Republic Orange Lady Coat (yes, that’s its name) is a great little find. Pair it with this sleeveless geo-print and you’re super hip.
This Flatiron satchel is lizard-embossed and in persimmon it’s another orange dash to your wardrobe. But wearing this purse with the jacket might be a bit much.
My love of gray is in full swing as this “it” color stays true in the spring, and now moves into beauty products. Lighter shades for nails go so well with this season’s alluring, feminine fabrics. Pale opal nails with romanic dresses of flowing chiffon, organza, tulle, and liquid jersey; and light grey nail polish to accessorize spring’s soft, watercolor tones.
Grey is a versatile and hip color for nails in everything from shimmers and silvers, but the defining “must have” tone will be a flat, dove grey.
Some picks:
* OPI Indian Collection has Moon Over Mumbai
* Rescue Beauty Lounge with its dove-gray shade Concrete Jungle (or) their other grey shade is Stormy.
My one huge piece of advice is that you need a bit of tan or you need to be very pale to pull this off. If you’re still in winter pasty don’t try this yet. Silver and metallics are more forgiving than the uber trendy flat, dove grey.

Just like FabSugar hinted, Old Navy is getting a fresh, youthful makeover this Spring. [Some already in stores, more in March]. If this is an attempt to catch up with the Zaras and the H&Ms of the world, I say bring it on, Old Navy!

1) Consider your face shape: If you have a long face (like Liv Tyler) then you can do the heavy, blunt cut bangs. If you have a heart shaped face (like Reese Witherspoon) then lighter sideswept bangs are more your speed.
2) Try some on for size: buy some hair pieces to try out the look first.
3) See a stylist: DON’T try to cut your own bangs if you want to get the best results.

Q: Any suggestions for a travel-enduring outfit?
A: Wrinkle free fabrics are going to be your best bet for your straight airport-to-flat rendezvous. Try a chunky knit sweaterdress over tights and knee-high boots. Top off the outfit with a 3/4 length or full length wool or cashmere coat (bonus points for bright colors or standout detailing). Read more.
A democratic approach to luxury’ is something of an oxymoronic phrase. Luxury, meaning something that requires the means aka money to buy isn’t something that everybody has in abundance.

Jovovich-Hawk designers Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk are joining the long list of fashion designers to design a side-line for Target.
Milla Jovovich of the hip fashion line Jovovich-Hawk has signed to create a mini-line of clothing for Target to launch in Spring, 2008. Milla formed the vintage-inspired fashion line in 2005 with her model friend Carmen Hawk.
The eclectic line is now beloved by loyal fashionistas: Chloe Sevigny, Nicole Richie, Brittany Murphy, Joy Bryant and Ginnifer Goodwin. But if you’re looking for budget versions the Jovovich-Hawk will be launching their Target collection on March 2, 2008!
Milla: "Our Target line will have all our classic pieces: smock dresses, tunics, minis, all vintage-inspired, great prints. We took the things that sold the best for us but we’re doing it on a bigger scale. To be able to do it with a big company that can afford to do it for a good price so that real girls can afford it. That’s the reason we were interested."

Never enough chocolate or lip gloss in this gal’s world. So here’s my double dose on the latest lip gloss trends. Tarte Double Dose Berry Boost & Gloss gi
ves a dual-powered dose of beauty and treatment. First the gloss and color are separated to keep the color true.
That in itself is kinda nifty, but then once you lube up the inner berry boost is a T5 Complex™ (five superfruits including pomegranate which are antioxidant-rich and packed with vitamins) concentrated pigment that mixes with the outer high shine gloss. The result is a rich color that helps rejuvenate your lips.

Okay if that wasn’t cool enough for you - how about a lie detector in a lip gloss? Too Faced Mood Swing Emotionally Activated Lip Gloss. It’s like a mood ring for your lips! The gloss goes on clear and turns from pale pink to deep fuchsia depending on your emotions.

She’s collaborating with retail chain Anchor Blue on a line of junior apparel and accessories set to debut by April 15. Striped dresses, color-rich tanks, tees, black shorts, white-denim tops, bags, and jewelry are all in the works, priced from $10 to $60.
[It Lists Says: After her awful music video (ala home cam’ from Spencer Shmuck), I’m not sure if I’d trust her fashion sense!]
.

Leave it to Hollywood fashionista’s like Vanessa Minillo, LC and LiLo to introduce us to a haut brand of handbags…lately, these ladies can’t get enough of their Treesje handbags.

What are your top trends for 2008?
(1) The play of hard against soft. For example, a pretty, silky dress in a beautiful color with a menswear inspired reefer coat in tweed or plaid. Lighter fabrics are prevalent in part because of global warming but also because women travel so much today.
(2) A peep toe shoe or bootie with a high vamp–classic 1940s influence.
Again, a 40s trend. Grown up clothes for a more mature look. Baby boomers want to be fashionable but also realistic.

When we first received a bottle of Diesel’s Fuel For Life fragrance, we were hesitant. The combination of notes straight out of the bottle smell familiar, almost like deja vu. It was only after wearing this fragrance for a week we began to change our minds.
After taking a bit of a disco-nap, Calvin Klein is bringing back his unfussy, simple line: ck Calvin Klein.
Who else would better be able to blast out the season’s basics. Tons of pencil skirts and silks all with Calvin-ish flair.
Apparel for ck Calvin Klein will launch in the U.S. in the spring 2008, and be supported with a regional ad campaign. Models Ali Stephens and Laurent Albucher, who were shot by David Sims. So keep a look out for the ck ads we knew and loved.

I have to echo Fab Sugar’s “girl crush” on Kelly Wearstler. Fab Sugar dubbed our gal as a standing out as an eclectic and a risk taker in January’s Vogue.
For me it’s been love since check in - at the ultra, hip Viceroy in Santa Monica. One of my fav hotel stays ever! Beyond being the owner’s wife, Kelly is the creative eye and lifestyle muse for all the Viceroy resorts. Her cabana’s at the Viceroy’s Cameo Bar make it a celeb staple hang out.

While being a judge on Bravo’s Top Design she proved she dares to mix prints, play with color, and experiment with whacky footwear or hairstyles (ala crimped or poodled). Let’s not forget Wearstler is married to a millionaire and co-hosts parties with Vogue. She currently has her own boutique within Bergdorf Goodman in New York and is launching a clothing line.
Kelly Wearstler: old-world Hollywood + a modern vibe = it girl
