Between the weather and my weight changes my rings are constantly swinging and wrapping the wrong directions.
If the gap is too small for a ring resize then I end up finger swapping unless I’m needing an inbetween. Oh the madness.
Instead of an ugly band aid or those awkward ring guards, there’s Ring Guard Solution. A gel that is applied to the inside of a band before wear, takes care of rings that slip, slide or fall off your finger. The temporary gel dries to a clear plastic to secure the ring in place. Best of all, you just peel it off after removing the ring.
P.S. Ring Guard can be added to clip-on earrings also to keep them from pinching so much.
Designers have recently looked into the past in to revive one of the most loved of fabrics - brocade. I’m pleasantly surprised at this heavy detail popping up in spring fashion. Velvet brocade is ultra rich looking!

Dolce & Gabbana is using the opulence of brocade for dresses to lush hand bags.
For a modern twist D&G are meshing brocade with tule and exotic animal skins. This is so fun because it’s both eccentric and fashion forward patchworked into one.
I have officially indulged the no-plastic bag wave - except for one major hurdle. I kept forgetting them at home.
Solution! I finally started tucking away the little compact nylon versions in my car and bigger purses - and best of all I found some durable cotton ones with images & messages that kick. So much so that they inspire me to remember to bring them everywhere.
With BYOB (Bring Your Own Bag) versions, I can express myself as both cheeky and environmental. I’m toting this “F*@k Plastic” in natural, but as a bonus the black is organic cotton.
Another one of their best sellers is this satchel. It features a kitsch burst of recycled vintage fabric (aka also a sustainable point) and is reversible. Big buttons are starting to pop up as a spring trend - makes sense this bag would pop one for of detail as part of it’s convenient side pocket.
Stock up gals, BYOB bags are sustainable, stylish, and carry a message. These bags will stay beyond a trend.
In the words of Thumper and my Mom, “If you haven’t got anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.” But I can’t help myself!
Fashionista Diaries follows the lives of 6 young glam interns. Two of them go to work for *** House PR’s Mandy Erickson. The way she treated her interns is shocking! The nasty lady was prepared to offer both interns jobs, but both girls didn’t want to work with her. Good decision ladies.
Mandy Erickson is a monster bitch and worthy of being put out there as an example of how not to be - - ever. An it girl isn’t just about being talked about - it’s about having the spark of somethin’ somethin’ that sets you apart from the crowd in a positive way.
My distaste of her was further fueled when I read Jezebel’s take on this nasty piece of work. I’m perplexed on why she’d go on a show and spotlight her crappy ways. There really is a time when ‘no press is bad press’ just doesn’t apply.

It seems anyone who’s a designer is putting out sunglasses these days. Joining the list that already includes Banana Republic, Phillip Lim and Tiffany are Pucci, Balenciaga, Chris Benz, Karl Lagerfeld, Chaiken, and Jimmy Choo.
Considering everyone wants to go incognito these days, it’s no surprise that these designers also want a piece of the shady pie.

Q: I was wondering if you had any good ideas about wearing headbands and some different types that are "in" right now.
A: Headbands are stylish, easy to wear, and versatile. And the great news is that they’ve been re-embraced recently. Rule of thumb: the shorter your hair is, the thinner the band should probably be. More…

It’s real. The fabled MacBook Air actually exists. It’s ultra-thin, can have a normal hard drive or a solid state one and, except for a couple ports, it’s all about wireless connectivity. It’s a stunning.
Fondue has gone the way of cranberry drinks - so-o-o-o five years ago.* Make room for the new foodie trend: Raclette.
Its an old Swiss tradition that’s making it’s way into all the hip kids’ entertaining. Raclette is a type of cheese from Switzerland that is prepared with vegetables on a special raclette grill that heats numerous small pans. It’s a social meal that you have to try before you truly understand its charm.
For mid-range check out this Hamilton Beach Raclette or a more budget option with the T-Fal Raclette Buffet Grill. Just add friends, stir, and eat cheese.
* Hey, don’t email me defending your Cosmos! Nothing wrong with enjoying them - they’re just not as hip, they’re now ‘classic’. ;)
I’ve been looking at my little booties and wondering how they were going to fit into spring. Well they’re not going away, but to be completely in style they’ve evolved to peep-toe booties.
Expect to see the updated oxford, slips of patent leather, and ribbons for spring 2008’s version of the ankle boot. And of course spring colors in trend - like pink.
Here are some tips for wearing peep toe shoes: http://womens-shoes.suite101.com/article.cfm/peep_toe_shoes

Our site crashed last nite…boy, it’s scary to see "fatal error" all over the place. I had nightmares of 404 and fatal errors. Sigh. I lost a few days of posts, but they’ll be up again later today. And if you’re a loyal sponsor reading this, you’re supportive ads will be back soon. We’re working on fixing and finding out what the heck happened.
Thanks for your patience! Shelley
In the spirit of websites gone mad you MUST, have to CHECK OUT THIS SITE: http://producten.hema.nl/
You can’t buy anything and it’s all in Dutch, but it’s mad genius web mastering so worth a peak. It takes a second to load (patience). If Net-a-Porter made shopping this fun I’d never leave and be very broke.
HEMA is a Dutch department store that first opened 1926, in Amsterdam. Now there are 150 stores all over the Netherlands; plus Belgium, Luxemburg, & Germany. This company has a sense of humor and a great computer programmer.

It’s official. Rachel Zoe and Bravo are creating a show together.
Some of you were wary when I hinted at this before and now it’s time to get ready to be entertained by the celebrity stylist herself. Airing date TBD.

Cap sleeves are making a major comeback on the red carpet this season. Forget one shouldered, grecian style frocks; this is going to be THE look of early 2008.

Omiru tried this one on in store yesterday, and it’s simply gorgeous. The chain-link pattern, the dramatic kimono sleeves, and the flirty skirt.

This is exactly what Eluxury needed. When you’re ready start puttin’ on the Ritz (circa 2008 and not 1982) this is the kind of collection you need. Think of it like YSL’s funky little sister. — Joanne Molina, Senior Editor.

America’s Next Top.. Nope! Looks like Tyra Banks has some competition. Bravo’s thrown their hat in the model making biz.
Bravo is on the hunt for the next great supermodels with hosts Niki Taylor and Tyson Beckford. It begins by unveiling the top 24 beautiful and talented men and women who will compete for a spot on the new reality competition series "Make Me A Supermodel".
My all time fav models would be Stephanie Seymour, Linda Evangelista, Daria Werbowy, Petra Nemkova, and Nikki Taylor. Pair her up with a hottie like Tyson and I’m in.
Computer problems stopped me from sharing that the premier show aired yesterday withTyson bareing his abs…just one of the reasons he’s current spokesmodel for Ralph Lauren. Next episode: The models learn the fine art of fashion attitude. In addition, they do the time warp by participating in an after-dark shoot at a notable 1970s hot spot.
My ongoing quest to play with a new mascara had me experimenting with a bit of color. Max Factor’s Vivid Impact Highlighting Mascara was a nice surprise in that it wasn’t that vivid (at least on my dark brown lashes). And that’s exactly what I wanted.
Think highlights are just for hair? Not anymore. It’s a new double-ended mascara that first defines with a base coat, and then highlights lashes and draws closer attention to the eyes. Invented by Pat McGrath, who revealed this mascara at the Fall/Winter 2007 Doce & Gabbana show.
I first tried the Karat Brown - which is highligted by a nice pop of gold. And then settled on my favorite which is the Burning Bordeaux - which is highlighted by a subtle dash of pink.
There are a few avante-garde combos, like blue and pink. Lash Away!
I have to give credit to my husband for my fav christmas gift - and a uber find to share with you. Arielle de Pinto does these crazy hand hand crocheted necklaces from sterling silver and vermeil metal.
Every piece conforms to style design and dimension, yet each is individual with an uninhibited rawness.

My Simple 3x is a 53” that’s bang on trend as a long chain, or wraps around up to three times. Not only that - it easily settles the age old dilemma on whether or not to mix’n match silver and gold!!
One half of mine is all silver, and the bottom half is all gold. It has a bit of overlapping twisted and tangled in both of the joining points - and literally threads of single chains dripping here and there for edgy fashion.
Love Love it. My boy has great taste. ;)

Bust out your vintage Burberry everyone…plaid is hot like a toaster! Tartan looks are popping up everywhere, but particularly in the form of jackets, coats and even shawl-like wraps.

The oversized collar frames your pretty face, while the dropped waistline flatters the shortwaisted (those with long legs).
$98 at Nordstrom. [The It Lists comment- love this coat, not just for the price tag, but also because it’s a dressier version of the Puma version we shared]
Candy colors are popping up for spring and I want to snatch up a pair of these Anne Klein Impress Patent Moc Flats with large buckle ($79 at Bloomingdales). I’m torn to green of course, but yellow seems so deliciously daring.
[The It Lists - Comment: One of the reasons I’ve featuring this find isn’t just for the updated colors for spring - but to remind you of my tip that when it comes to flats a squared toe is a great feature to make a flat not cross over into too cutesy]
