Marie Claire has the best Halloween tips the ask you NOT to do for Halloween fashion.

Do NOT…
- * Dress up as a naughty cat, bunny, nurse or nun.
- * Carve Monet’s Haystacks into a pumpkin because Martha told you to.
- * Ride public transportation in your Amy Winehouse wig.
- * Dress up like a bad pun - like ‘Gold Digger’.
- * Give out healthy treats like raisins. In a few years the recipients will return for revenge with eggs and toilet paper.
- * Serve guests drinks with aggressive names like ‘Witches Tit’.
Happy Halloween!

I’m addicted to all mineral makeup. Liquid foundation is a thing of the past in my bathroom, and now the creme de la creme finish before I leave the house is a final dusting from M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish.
Mineralize Skinfinish is one of the treats I picked up at BC Fashion Week. It’s a lux velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish that adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks and brows, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face. Highly reflective it gives fantastic depth.
Important! Don’t get turned off by how shimmery it looks - try it first. Friends are always super, super surprised when I show them the metallic product, but then they see it on me and there’s no glitter.
It’s best to go slightly darker than your skin tone - so the one that’s giving me a bit of color despite summer being long gone is M.A.C.’s Global Glow. It’s sold out online, but a bunch of my gals have still been able to get their brushes on these compacts.
Also grab the newest, Limited Edition Alexander McQueen - Mineralize Skinfinish in NEW VEGAS! Backstage at Alexander McQueen Fall ‘07, looks veered colorfully to the dark side. Celebrating the designer’s historic inspiration: Haunting definition and subtle shaping of this collection was created by Mineralize Skinfinish. MAC and McQueen are two of the coolest fashion brands around, so a collaboration is obviously not to be missed.
Spring slush is far away, but that doesn’t mean you won’t still have some autumn days and puddles to contend with. If that’s the case try sporting these Aquatalia "Wasabi" synthetic patent leather boots - totally waterproof knee-high round-toe rain boots that have the added benefit of not looking like rain boots. The red ones are hot! and you can’t go wrong with classic black.
This style was so hot they sold out back in March, but restocked now for fall!

Today CITC happened to notice that she dressed her baby and herself in nearly identical matching t-shirts for their daily jog. “My first reaction was to smack myself in the forhead for being such a nerd, but then I realized I was not alone.”

It’s been a busy week for Roberto Cavalli! The Fab ad campaign for his collaboration with H&M appeared earlier this week, and now the lookbook for the entire collection has surfaced. As expected, leopard spots, zebra prints, and sequins are all over, and the color palette stays in the black, white, and gold range. The standout dress looks to be this gold flapper number, which Cavalli designed with Kylie Minoque in mind.
P.S. Next! Cavalli is doing the costumes for the Spice Girls reunion tour, set to kick off November 15 at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in LA.

Q: I recently bought a pair of stiletto-heel motorcycle boots, and I have no idea what to wear with them. I am in my twenties and petite. Any suggestions?
A: These are certainly sexy motorcycle boots! With standout boots like these, you want to keep the rest of your look relatively simple. Pair your boots with items that aren’t blatantly sexy–with provocative items, less is more. Outfit ideas continued.

Scorpios are femme fatales. Resourceful, strong-willed, and ambitious, they have a charming personal magnetism that allows them to excel (think Julia Roberts). Scorpios make great leaders, showing to others their passionate, imaginative nature. They work intensely towards their goals, often allowing themselves to be driven by their emotions.
The belted silhouette is finally getting a rest. Loose, short, shift dresses are a staple in most of fall / winter 2007 major collections.
As the first Danish designer to launch a haute couture line, Malene Birger is at the top of her game with representation in over 15 countries world wide. Malene Birger Juno Dress in Brown.
A little more sparkle in order? FCUK French Connection Dexy Dome dress.

Stella Keitel is anything but a tabloid temptress - despite her parents being bad ass, Harvey Keitel and Lorraine Bracco. It’s because of her success under the radar that I’ve deemed her this month’s “it girl.”
The native New Yorker is signed with Wilhelmina Models, finishing her psychology degree, an addict to Barney’s and NY’s Nobu, and this last year wrapped to indie films: Perfect Sport and The Life of Lucky Cucumber.
Stella Keitel holds her ground, whether it’s striding down the catwalk or arguing with her Hollywood dad. "He’s one of those people that doesn’t have respect for models. He doesn’t think there’s much talent involved." Then she adds, "He’s wrong, by the way (Paper Mag).”
Sounds like Keitel has the spunk and style warranted for an “it girl.” One we’ll have to keep an eye on as she evolves.

Given the warm LA climate, it’s not surprising TART stuck to what they do best: easy, breezy, micro-modal dresses.
There were oodles of flowy dresses, long and short. Prints, like exploding dots and feathers, were introduced and much appreciated.

Q: I got a teal skirt from Nordstrom, but it’s way too short, especially over my booty. I’m not sure if it’s okay to wear it with tights. What I can wear under it?
A: The best fashion makes a woman look alluringly stylish, while projecting an image of good self-esteem. In our humble opinion, wearing skirts that are too short or tops that are too low cut can detract from dignity of the person who wears them.

What a friggin’ cool night. I was doing the PR for Kanye West and Ludacris with Lana and Jesselyne at my side. This time we got to reap our rewards - not like the Tiesto show.
The harps as back up as Kanye strutted to Gold Digger...Luda chillin’ side stage hidden under by his hoodie and his posse…and Stronger marking the highlight at GM Place.
Because I was working I couldn’t really grab shots but here’s a few my husband managed. Kanye gives good entertainment and is an “it”. These pictures are not for republication.
Marc Jacobs just can’t get get enough creative juice out of his system. From being the artistic designer to Louis Vuitton to creating China for Wedgewood. Now he’s added a fresh new fragrance to his collection - Marc Jacobs Daisy.
This gal is super fussy when it comes to scents, but this is one I’m looking forward to doing a test run on. The daisy bottle is adorable, and the aroma is a blend of violet leaves, wild strawberries, red grapefruit (a fav), and lifted by notes of musk, vanilla (yum), and white wood.
Word on the street is that Daisy is young, fresh and invigorating. Fab Sugar shares that “the florals are not over powering and a light oriental scent lingers just long enough until the scent wears down to a casual yet still sophisticated scent.”
Any fans yet?
Star alignments with fashion are nothing new, but this month marks the fruition of two sister acts we’ve known about for awhile. But now we finally get to see the results.
Sienna Miller and her sis - Savanah. The new label Twenty8Twelve shows that Sienna knows more than boho. The label, whose name comes from Sienna’s birthday-December 28-will be available exclusively this fall at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. The 80-piece line, entitled "An Anthology of Rebellion," was inspired by the 1920s and Patti Smith.
Penelope Cruz and her sis - Monica. The duo unite for a one off collection with Mango MNG. It’s a working girl’s dream of 50’s and 70’s vintage inspiration. My picks are this black jacket and the baby doll dress. It’s really a shame that this is a limited edition collection. Maybe if we ask nice they’ll make us some more pretty clothes from the pretty sis’s.

October always rings with the best pink trinkets - to raise awareness of the boobs. Breast Cancer that is. This year Italian lingerie manufacturer Cosabella has the Hope Low Rider Thong.
Feetfirst and Payless Shoes both have fun satin and metal bracelets for the cause. Holt Renfrew has a private label pink cashmere hoodie promoted by Elizabeth Hurley. Estee Lauder continues to hold the cosmetic cause leader with their line of pink.
My best pink pick is by far Coach! Coach has joined the Fight Against Breast Cancer by giving $100 in proceeds from each Positively Pink Watch toward the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The pink bridle style with pink Swarovski crystal markers straps up a winner.
UPDATE TO POST: Allure Magazine just listed L’Oreal Skin Genesis as one of this year’s "breakthroughs".
Even though, this is a drug store find you should still shop around. I found up to a $7 difference between some locations. Frugal Tip! At my drug store I could have saved money if I had first bought the cream (I got the pink oil free one shown here - but it comes in three versions) which had in it’s box a sample AND a $5 coupon for the Serum (which I also bought). I’m liking this duo for firming action.
October is breast cancer awareness month, so it’s time to break out the pink and show your support!
Fall is not typically the time of year when we wear pastels, but for this great cause we will follow suit and forgo traditional fashion sins.

Spring collections were applauded by retailers and editors alike, because of the bursts of color and various prints.
These elaborate boots are fit for warriors; or, for the wardrobe of a sci-fi film. I can definitely see the Olsens daring to wear these, or the top reigning editors, if you had the means, would you dare?

Designed from a single sheet of fine silver, you’ll love the origami pendants and earrings designed by Cindy Ng of Fingermagic. I love the Origami Windmill necklace ($60) which has the following meaning for the symbol: "A beautiful necklace to personify a wish for turning your luck around, it just might flip your luck towards good health, great wealth and a very romantic lover!" Cindy also has modern origami style alphabet necklaces.
Origami Froggie Necklace ($110)
Summer shapes have overflowed into fall with the trapeze cut - just with longer sleeves. The best trend is the trapeze cut with bell or tulip sleeves.
Victoria Secret has three options to live in. My favorite is Alessandra in the middle Merino wool (boatneck) sweater ($39), but the silk & cashmere v-neck ($49) and the trapeze cardigan ($49) are other safe bets to add to your wardrobe.
I have a similar cardigan in a light latte brown and I’ve been mixing and matching it with everything.
