Okay long are the days where I’ll ever again wear my black patent pants, but I still love it as an accessory. There’s something so sleek and refined patent as a purse or shoe. Take a shine to one of these…
Prada’s little sis, Miu Miu doesn’t disappoint when it comes to finding a great bag for a better price many times. Miu Miu Patent Leather Tote is still a splurge. Something more practical is the Roots Uptown Bag - Patent Vernice Leather. Or totally different with Click’s Ness Bag in red.
Booties aren’t just something you shake, they’re glam footwear too. Over the last few seasons they evolved into to wrapped suedes and high textures. Expect more of those!
The Fall 2007 shoe trend "must have" isn’t quite shoe, not quite bootie. Its the laceup oxford. And best of all you’ll find it any heel imaginable - from stiletto to cone, to wedge or platform.
Both of these Oxfords are stunning. I love brown leather, and the detailing works from cocktails to conference calls. Here is Miss Sixty’s "Wanna" - from the Silvy Collection ($185) for a simpler, version. And for a more classic oxford look it’s hands down United Colors of Benetton ($129).

Marc Jacobs has a gorgeous black patent oxford pump too!
This A-Line style of jacket is going to be rampant. Look for the signature combo of: tiny collar, two upper button closures, short sleeves, and the slight swing cut.
Lucky Magazine found these two A-Line jacket favs! The plaid jacket is To The Max - BCBG ($138 at Dillards) - yet another reason why I am liking To The Max. The other pick I have is this red number from Sele (only $59 at Macy’s).
A tip on how to style this? Where the A-Line jacket over a silky camisole, and then pair with a flouncy soild color skirt that hits about 2 inches above the knee.
I’ve already found one of my favorite lines for this fall. To The Max.
While not a cheap brand, To The Max! Is BCBG’s lower end line. Dillard’s, Macy’s and Nordstroms are great places to indulge in this line. To The Max has a great site to start to get immersed in the look and feel for this fall, without being scared out of your tan early.
What I’m liking about the line is that there are plaids, argyle, tweeds, and satins - all traditional fall favs - but in softer hues for the transition to cooler days.
The tulip jumper is adorable, but just how plain gorgeous is this sleeveless sweater dress. And in my favorite fall color combo. The chunky buttons are just the final touch.
Hi All! I hope you are enjoying my blog’s new look. Had to give the gal a facelift as I get ready to celebrate her one year birthday - when I get back.
The It Lists is kinda on vacation - okay I’m VERY much on vacation. I’m in Bali, Indonesia. But for loyal fans I’ll still have a few posts popping up for you, and maybe the odd tales of my ‘guilty pleasure’ adventures on this paradise island.

I might just try to follow the trails of Eat Pray Love - but maybe next week. ;)

Not only is Petra Nemcová a drop dead stunning, gorgeous supermodel, but she is also a survivor and that makes her a huge "it" girl.
At the top of all her other achievements is her new charity: Happy Hearts Fund which provides aid to schoolchildren. She set up the charity after he nearly died in the 2004 tsunami - which did take the life of her fiance. Nemcová suffered a broken pelvis and internal injuries, but she still held onto a palm tree for 8 hours until rescue. Glamour magazine recently awarded Nemcová a "Survivor Award" for the tsunami ordeal.
Her ‘model’ props include…
- 2006 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
- 2007 British FHM calendar as Miss May.
- Host of TLC’s A Model Life.
And if that wasn’t enough…she also wrote Love Always, Petra (2005) about her early life under Communist rule in Czechoslovakia, her entrance into the field of fashion and modeling, and her breakthrough into Sports Illustrated, which was her springboard to becoming a supermodel.
I’m so not ready to think fall yet, but when you start seeing velvet pop up - it is a sign. Sigh!
Rock and Roll hip in velvet slim-cut jacket. Whether it’s crushed velvet, ribbon tied, or nipped waist…lush velvet suits up a pair of dress pants or jeans. Velvet is always stunning in rich jewel hues, but I also like it in taupes and browns.
Kendall Farr, stylist and author of
The Pocket Stylist (Gotham Books) tops her "it" list for this fall as a velvet blazer. By the way her little book is one of the most helpful books on getting your tired closest shifted into chic & trendproof threads.
Glamour Magazine shares with us some guilt-free sentiments…that hey, it’s okay…
…if the closest you’ll ever get to skinny-dipping is running through a sprinkler without your shoes on.
…to take a great deal of pride in your iPod playlists.
…to be a little bummed out you’re related to the hot guy you just met at your family reunion.
…to skim the front-page headlines but read every word of pieces like "Zoo Gives Panda Viagra."
…to spend 30 minutes in the museum and an hour in the gift shop.
…if you still don’t have a crush on Justin Timberlake.
…if you’re the only girl at the beach whose cover-up actually covers up.
…to ask him to pick you up at work mainly beause you want to show him off.

There are a lot of options when it comes to swimwear, but celebs march to the beat of their own drummer! Find out how these three celebs make beachy looks of their own:
P-Hilt has been spending her post-jail time summer wearing a variety of swimsuits with interesting cuts (like the one above).

You said: IN! 91% of you are all for this traditional Fall color.
Omiru’s take: We’re wearing grey this fall, too. It’s a versatile alternative to black, which has a more severe feel to it. Style tip? Grey outfits don’t have to be drab. Pair grey with the bright colors you’ve been wearing this summer for autumn outfits with a kick.
.

Yes we’ve bombarded you with autumn trends but summer isn’t over just yet. Life and Style Weekly has a feature on Gauchos - the cropped jean that allows you to play around with the blossoming trend of the wide leg silhouette whilst keeping you cool in whats left of the warm weather.
.

Celebrity stylist but not stylist-to-celebrities Patricia Field has been keeping busy with a couple new projects. The first?
Creating the wardrobes of Lucy Liu and company for the upcoming show Cashmere Mafia.

Once again Fall is calling for darker nail polish hues, and blue is at the top of the list along with some classic colors such as red and deep purple.
Are you so done with that inky black manicure from last year? This blue is fall 2007 trend is more sophisticated, and dash less vamp.
OPI has two really good ones, Nights Brights Line has rich storm blue of Light My Sapphire, or a pop brighter in the new Russian line with Russian Navy.
But if purple is more your dark hue, also check out OPI Siberian Nights or Lincoln After Dark.
If Sevens can make jeans fit like an old friend, imagine what they’ll be able to do with heels!
The genius behind 7 For All Mankind are launching their next evolution in style - shoes! This shoe line is a mix of 60’s and 80’s styles in an array of chunky wooden heels and round toes, lots of military bits, and stretch leather - they are 7’s after all.
Later this month you’ll see these 7’s starting to pop up. The pair I can’t wait to see the slate colored, calf skin booties. For their first fall season, the womans footwear line will be monopolized by detailed materials. Lizard, python, crinkled patent, retro heavy canvas with piping, and a mirror-like metallic leather (laminato). And all in this fall’s colors: ivory, russet orange, rose-pink, tobacco, and cognac.
I tried really, really hard to give you pics - but no go. Consider yourself teased!
For summer when you’re running around and don’t have purse or pockets - lip stain is an "it"!
Back in January I shared a goop-free lip color option from the Revlon Limited Edition Collection - the Just Bitten Lip Stain. My fav is still Berry Juicy (see pic) which leaves a nice lite stain. It’s a roll-on, water-weight formula made with real fruit extracts.
Suddenly I’m discovering more color options. Maybe it’s because it’s part of the limited edition that only samplings get leaked to certain stores, or maybe it’s because I’ve bought out both drug stores around me (great gifts for the gals) and my obsessive buying power is now driving the beauty supply and demand of Revlon in my hood. Either way…I’ve now grown my lip stain spectrum.
Berry Juicy is still the staple fav, but for more red power I’m rolling on Cherry Tart to release my inner tart. The surprise for me is how good the Blood Orange is looking with a tan.
Oh! And even better for US fans there’s a $2 coupon here.
