It has become so difficult for me--a woman of a certain age--to remain chic and trendy without looking ridiculous. Although I love the ruffled look and some of the other tredns for spring 2007, if I get too "ruffled up" I look like I'm from the Elizabethan Era instead of the 21st Century.

HOWEVER...I recently interviewed a professional fashion consultant for my own blog--and she gave me some sage advice on how to still wear trends (without looking ridiculous).

Her 50 percent rule is the most helpful piece of fashion advice that I've ever received. It's changed the way I think about getting dressed in the morning. It's too good to keep to myself, so thought I'd share it: http://www.softouchintimacy.com/betweenus/?p=97.
