I found some ruffle tops that aren’t too cutesy. When you’re over 12 years old - there’s always that fine line with ruffles or bows.

The best ruffle set I’ve seen is this Rebecca Taylor milk chocolate silk ruffle camisole. That’s how you do balance femine without being cutesy. Other picks would be this Anthropologie navy one, and for more budget picks…
Bebe’s stretch silk halter, and Mossimo’s - Bittersweet velvet-trim. Perfect for a spot of party - but you’ll get lots of mileage beyond that too.
UPDATED: After some Seattle shopping I’ve got an update on all of these - Read on…
The Rebecca Taylor one is still my favorite. Nuff said. As for the others here’s what I can add on. The navy Antrhopologie pick doesn’t do it justice - try on the site to look at the "on model" photo - when it’s unbuttoned it’s so not conservative looking. The next price point down is the Bebe and it needs some accessories to rich it up. And finally the Mossimo - do not buy the black (cheapo looking) but the brown is a nice budget option.
