Kate Moss has been signed on by lingerie giant Agent Provocateur to star in their latest advertising campaign 4 Dreams of Miss X. It’s film noir, it’s gorgeous, it’s deliciously naughty, it’s Kate Moss.
The series is being directed by Hollywood filmmaker, Mike Figgis, whose previous work includes the hit film "Leaving Las Vegas," which starred Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue.
Popstar Kylie Minogue previously caused an uproar after starring in an Agent Provocateur ad in which she writhed around on a mechanical bull dressed in a lacy bra, stockings and suspenders. Martini-talk says this series will out do!
The first dream, Shadows, a short 4-minute film, features Kate in bed, barely dressed in all-black and raspy voice. Kate is even more daring in the third film of the Agent Provocateur "Miss X" series, in which she strips off naked.
Log onto Agent Provocateur to oggle the short film (second dream is out Nov. 1). Image [source]
Knits seem softer, thicker, better than they used to be. It’s like they finally wised up and put the baby soft in with the durability (to not pill into cotton balls hanging off your elbows)…and how they drape. Bless fall for being the best season for soft jersey knits.
Here are some great knit "it’ picks: RACHEL PALLY - Scoop Bubble Dress. This one gets double points for being the first bubble dress I’ve seen that does not make you look like a circus act. This dress is so hip (easy to layer, pair with leggings, add a splash of red or black, long sleeves) and could easily become a classic. Get it here.
VELVET - Velvet Aveza Dress Velvet (the brand not the material) offers sensuous pieces that flatter without sacrificing feminine or fit. I’ve got some of velvet’s long tanks for layering up. They’re gorgeous, soft and great quality. This dress is a fabulous wardrobe staple. Get it here.
Also worth checking out is another Rachel Pally - in bungee.
Why haven’t I play by play’d the recent NY Fashion Week? So many blogs were rehashing the same thing about Spring fashion, and if you want the epitome of photo coverage go to the style.com bible.
But mainly because when I look out my window to the sea of fall leaves exploding into gold colors as I snuggle in my new fall sweater with a cup ‘o chai. Why would I want to write or even think about spring?
And as a reader you can’t rush out to stores to get any of it? So doesn’t it just seem plain mean to tease you about something you can’t have for six more months? Well for you fashion sadists that "have to know" - here’s a Spring Teaser of what "The it Lists" expects to be Spring 2007 ~ Top Ten Runway Predictions… Read More »
I can’t speak for the quality of the Reversa Anti-aging lightening cream or Reversa UV Anti-Wrinkle Cream SPF 15, but I can RAVE about their new viral ad campaign. The ‘side effects’ are brilliant, and shirtless.
WARNING:
The content on this site may offend women under 35.
Who knew that anti-aging could also cause a fireman that tests your smoke detector or carries out a “safety inspection,†a plumber that runs your bath, a gardener that does more than “trimming your bushes,†or (my favorite) a master chef that knows how to “knead those certain places.â€
There have been quite a few toe trends that I’ve been confused at.
First there were the little bootie Uggs that you had to be 16 to look attractive in. Next came Crocs Sandals - I’ve always left perplexed at how otherwise intelligent people strap cushioned Tupperware to their feet to make themselves look like Lego people. It’s so wrong!
So now comes Marc Jacobs with platform sandals and socks. No! Doesn’t he understand this bumps Birkenstocks with socks into the grey area where they were so clearly a red zone. If you’re having flashbacks of ZZ Top girls with lacy socks with their pumps…no this is a whole other picture. Marc Jacobs is trying to fashionize clumpy athletic socks with chunky platform sandals.
Does Marc Jacobs rock your socks?

If you can’t tell by the it list’s virtual wallpaper I’m a fan of Damask. The swirly, large floral patterns traditionally associated with formal interiors, now appear in fun, contrasting colors for a modern twist.
The other reason for its comeback is that damask now appears on all kinds of new materials besides silks and linens. I’m not about to battle a roll of wallpaper (but if you are check out Osborne and Little), but maybe I’ll take a spin in this funky Ikea contribution “ the Lunna Swivel Chair (also has a matching footstool). I’ve also seen damask done well on a few skirts, but that can be a fine line between looking glam’ and looking like a cushion.
In their new, bold form, damasks can give a modern twist to a traditional interior or add a touch of tradition to a modern room. [via The NY Times]

Sigh. Finally I found a mascara that rocks!!
I don’t know if my lashes are short or thin or what their damage is. Maybe they’re sadly lacking at that in-between place? Finding a mascara has been my ongoing challenge. I went to a beauty consultant at my local mall and asked for what’s NEW! She pulled out the new Lancome Fatale and after showing me the extra degooping I had to do with the brush* proceeded to miss stabbing my eye and the result was what she called ‘volume’ and I called a Tammy Fay Baker accident. Next!
I visited the Benefit counter (although the Bad Gal mascara has a great reputation it’s just not for me) because just that morning the Bent Mascara had arrived. My luck! A few graceful swoops and my eyes popped!! without looking cakey (just pretty). Like a push-up bra for your lashes? this long lasting, lifting mascara has a specially angled brush that lifts, lengthens and curls lashes to perfection. The brush lifts every single lash and loads it with jet black, long-lasting mascara to keep them supported all day long. The best part is the control you have with the brush to put on a little or a lot so this mascara works for both day and nite purposes.

Sienna Miller is fresh, beautiful and creates her own fashion style. Ms. Miller’s easy, floaty look became the biggest fashion craze of last summer.
She’s given much of the credit for the revival of bohemian style ala BoHo. Although she told US Vogue: No more boho chic! Those two words make me sick now. She’s moved onto more tailored.
An actress and model, Sienna Miller’s film credits include Layer Cake, Alfie, Casanova, Camille and now she hits theatres in September as the Warhol starlet Edie Sedgwick is brought to the screen in Factory Girl; Sienna Miller stars as the former Harvard student who craves fame and fortune at any cost. She’s already on the fashion radar for trends she’ll inspire from the pic.
Trend Alert: Sienna was the first celeb (back in January) to be spotted wearing the now hot, ankle boots! Image [source]
I noted these in my Fall 2006 picks, but thought they’re grand enough to be featuring in a solo post.
I don’t know who is designing for Aerosoles, but has this shoe company ever found some new soul (sole).
My favor"it" is the Sleigh Thread Shoe (deal$ here) My local mall is only carrying the black and brown - it’s pretty basic, but I’m jonesing for the moss green or bronze. Shop Etc Magazine voted this the #1 most comfortable heel this season.
Another good pick is the Durrific Boots - triple trend points for the buckles, kneehigh length and wedge heel. And if you prefer the flat heel don’t miss the Ride Line.
What do you get if you combine a chemical engineer from Sanford, an award-winning designer, and an ethical & innovative team?
Cleaning products that look super cool and kick butt – all while being gentle on the environment. No really – they work. The packaging is by award winning designer, Karim Rashid. More than 70 of Karim’s objects are in museums (e.g. MOMA). You won’t want to hide the fantastically designed bottles under your counter tops, but as a huge bonus what’s inside the bottles is amazing too.
I’m such a fan! I had to break from my usual focus on fashion and beauty to share this. My fav – the cucumber all purpose cleaner. Suddenly clean smells like lavendar, green tea, grapefruit or cucumber and not like bleach. You’ll actually not mind cleaning up after yourself (or at least a little less than usual!).
Order on line www.methodhome.com in US, Canada and now in the UK (or in Canada @ Shopper’s Drug Mart and Safeway).
Red is ruling the runways as the perfect complement to this season’s subdued black and grey. The perfect way to brighten up your fall look is with this must have: flame red pea coat from FCUK French Connection.
It’s got the trendy slight bell sleeve, and its swing-line shape will work with skinny or layers - it’s stylish, cute and will definitely get you noticed. You won’t want to take it off! Tip: Accessories and jackets are the easiest ways to update your current wardrobe.
M·A·C Cosmetic’s last few Viva Glam lipsticks weren’t as unique as previous versions. This year’s Viva Glam is a definite "it"!
VIVA GLAM VI Lipstick debuts this month as a warm terracotta-plum with pearl finish.
There’s also a VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass, that can be paired or worn separate from it’s namesake lipstick. The beauty of the Viva Glam line is it’s universal appeal (almost anyone can wear these shades), but also that all of it’s profits go to fight HIV/ AIDS.
This year only gets better! Viva Glam VI has four spokespeople: Debbie Harry, Dita Von Teese (love her!!), Eve, and Lisa Marie Presley. Could there be a more eclectic combo? How’d you like to talk lipstick and politics over cocktails with this quad? Maybe if they hosted The View we’d actually tune in. Images [source]
This Fall is a season of tough-chic beauty: one part Veronica Lake, one part Robert Palmer video vixen. The item every girl needs? Ruby red lipstick.[Style.com].
Pink is out! Red and burgundy for lips (go sheer red if you’re faint of heart) and pair with a rosy tone blush for cheeks.
Eyes: brows should be natural looking, but shaped (not overly tweezed) and lashes should just be one good coat of mascara (brown or black).
Foundation: this fall use it sparingly or go bare. A tinted moisturizer is a safe bet.
The final touch is a dark polish: browns or burgundy. This will subtly pop on fall’s tweeds and plaids.

Luxe Grunge - says it all. If one designer sums up this season it’s Marc Jacobs.
You may not wear an original MJ, but it’ll be hard to avoid the knock offs of this chicer updated grunge/boho collection; an unkempt approach to wardrobe (a la Olsen twins).
First motivated by Seattle’s groundbreaking rock scene in the 1990s - Jacobs’ update contains all the mainstays of yesterday’s grunge (flannel, plaid, layers and leg warmers) alongside today’s sophisticated pieces, including capes, shawls and jackets.
